Michael Love has served as the Planning & Development Development Director for the City of South Euclid since April 2022, having the responsibility of strengthening the city’s commercial corridors and residential neighborhoods, creating and overseeing housing policy, serving as the Zoning Administrator, and working to actively attract and retain businesses. Employed by the City since 2008, his previous roles were Economic Development Director, Economic Development Coordinator, and Development Assistant, with his primary focus being on serving the City’s business community.
Michael serves as Chair of the Northeast Ohio Advanced Energy District, focusing on implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects throughout the region. He also serves as the City’s representative to the First Suburbs Development Council and as a board member of the Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Michael is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University. He continued his education at Cleveland State University Levin College of Public Affairs & Education and is a graduate of the Master of Public Administration Program with a specialization in City Management. Michael has completed the Ohio Certified Public Manager Program and the LeanOhio Certification Program, offered through Cleveland State University. Michael is a graduate of the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Bridge Builders Program and the Advanced Leadership Institute Program.
As a lifelong South Euclid resident, in his community, Michael is a part of many neighborhood volunteer projects.
