The purpose of this course is to educate real estate agents on the background of the legal system, provide an understanding of agency law, and a better understanding of real estate laws as they relate to conveying property.  The program begins with an introduction and foundation of the law, followed by real estate contracts (details involved in different scenarios), agencies, interests in real property, and ends with commercial landlord-tenant law.  Don’t miss this important program!

Instructors: Bill Fergus, Esq., Brad Linville, Esq.
Bill Fergus is a practicing attorney and legal services partner in Northwest Law, as well as serving as Central Ohio Regional Counsel for the Northwest Title Family of Companies.  He has over 20 years of legal experience and an extensive background providing counsel for real estate title insurance transactions. Bill’s practice involves representing corporations, business owners, buyers and sellers, landlords, tenants, lenders, and developers, as well as negotiating and drafting purchase agreements, leases, easements, and other legal documents.

Brad Linville is a senior attorney with Northwest Law and the Commercial Division Manager of Northwest Title Family of Companies.  Brad brings with him the experience of litigating general real estate legal matters and handling real estate transactions involving mineral rights examination, and contract review and finalization, throughout Ohio.

CREDIT: This course is certified for 3 hours of core law credit. Attendees must join the program with video and stay within view during the program in order to receive CE, as active participation will be monitored. Per ODRE requirements, you must be present 90% of the program in order to receive credit.
