Session 1 (Hybrid) - The State of Housing in America: Examining the Black-White Homeownership Gap
Mark Alston, Owner of Skyway Realty and Alston & Associates Mortgage Company in Los Angeles, CA

Homeownership is a key source of household wealth, most often representing our largest household asset.  But a well-documented racial gap in the homeownership rate has limited the financial benefits that accrue to black households, contributing to a broader racial disparity in wealth accumulation.  This program will review the key variables that have driven this homeownership gap and discuss policy recommendations aimed at reducing it. (1 hr credit)

Session 2 - Brokerage of the Future: Understanding and Implementing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Tiffany Curry, Broker/Owner of BHHS Tiffany Curry & Co. in Houston, TX

This program will aid brokers to assess their policies in pursuit of implementing DEI goals, and in directing adoption by their staff/team. (1 hr credit)

Session 3 - Homeownership and LGBTQ+ Consumers
Alex Cruz, CNE, National Vice President for the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance

This presentation is thought-provoking and interactive, helping you to develop a better understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and enhancing your knowledge on how to work with potential home sellers/buyers.  The program will open your eyes to the discrimination issues LGBTQ+ buyers face, and help you learn how to address LGBTQ+ clients using inclusive language.  You’ll find out about LGBTQ+ demographics and their buying power and enhance your marketing skills to show you’re an ally of the community. (1 hr credit)

Session 4 (Hybrid) - How to Avoid an International Incident
                  Cheryl Knowlton, CSP, CDEI, DREI

Serving diverse clientele is not only challenging but filled with exposure to professional liability.  In this fun and engaging course, licensees learn to clearly identify protected classes, enhance their personal cultural awareness, and apply communication techniques that enhances relationships between themselves and their customers/clients. (1 hr credit)
