Ohio Market Watch: Activity levels cooled in the fall

Jan 9, 2019

By Greg Stitz, Ohio REALTORS Director of Research

Comparing this most recent fall to the previous autumn, 18 percent fewer Ohio REALTORS reported that their marketplaces were active. While the market does experience a seasonal slowdown, the margin reported in a recent Ohio REALTORS housing market confidence survey shows a notable shift. Specifically, 19 percent of respondents indicated their markets were more active this year, compared to 37 percent of REALTORS indicating the same a year ago. Conversely, there is also an 18 percent difference between the two years with respondents claiming their markets are more sluggish than usual.

Survey results are based on responses to a monthly survey, designed to capture the effects of the existing economic conditions and trends on the real estate industry, sent to a pool of 1,500 Ohio REALTORS participants. Click here to participate in future Ohio REALTORS Housing Confidence Surveys.
