Frye discusses how the shutdown is slowing FHA loan approvals with NPR radio
Ohio REALTORS® President Anjanette Frye discussed the impact of the federal government's partial shutdown on the housing marketplace with the state's NPR radio stations.
According to the piece, 1-out-of-5 buyers rely on the assistance of loan insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA). Frye noted:
“FHA doesn't have a full staff to be processing loans, so it's slowing down the lending process. And there's not really a contingency plan that's suitable in place to fix that problem.”
