Coaching Corner: Did you know?

Coaching Corner: Did you know?

Okay, I realize it is Valentines Day and you are expecting a blog post from me about how we need to express our love and affection the rest of the year for our loved ones. And, rightly so. This is exactly what I typically write on these types of holidays (is it a holiday??). However, something occurred this week that is taking precedents for me.

For more than a week, I have been having computer issues. First, it appeared my computer was hacked and all of my agents received a lovely email requesting that they purchase gift cards for me! Eek! OK, I handled that. Then the recordings from my meditation class would not come through -- no way -- no how!

I promptly put my big girl pants on and called Go Daddy and they informed me these emails were in “quarantine!” What!!!! After over an hour on the phone and a reluctant password change, they sent me on my way with the assurance that everything would be fine.

Nope! My emails were coming in on my Mac, but not on my iPhone. Ok, it was late at this point and I made the wise decision to go to bed and deal with this irritating issue in the morning. When I woke up, much to my surprise and delight, my emails were coming in on my phone, and I felt secure in knowing that the rep from Go Daddy was correct, and everything was indeed alright.

Nope! Although my emails were coming in happily on my phone, they now were not coming in on my Mac! Come on! This is pure hell for me and although I had bucked it up til this point, my self assurance and calm was teetering mightily. I placed another call to Go Daddy and after close to an hour, he finally told me that he could refer me to an IT person and then bill me for their time. By this time, emails were stopped on all devices, which as you all know, is NOT okay.

Luckily, my challenged brain cells were able to rally and remember that as of January, we at Ohio REALTORS have a FREE Tech Helpline that we can call, and by golly, that is just what I intended to do. I carved out a sufficient amount of time between clients, fully preparing for an extended conversation, and made the call.

My call was answered immediately (wow!), and after 15 minutes -- did you read that -- 15 minutes, all emails were flowing in on all devices. Okay, I have no idea how or why, but in my books, this IT guy is my new hero!

So, hopefully you can understand the foregoing of my typical blog for this day and further understand that I am sending my full love and devotion to the people working the (FREE) Tech Helpline at Ohio REALTORS!

And, for those of you who still are looking for more...please take the next 364 days and make sure that those important people in your life know how much they mean to you! Happy Valentines Day!
