Coaching Corner: Sloooooooow Down!

As we are slowly reintegrating into the next phase of this year, I want you to check in on your speed -- your pace. How quickly are you moving through your day? Do you have a sense of urgency...or calm? One of the most beautiful benefits from COVD19 that I have found is around my pace. I can’t tell you that I was always sped up, however, it would happen more frequently than I would have liked.
What I have discovered over the past couple of months is that I am moving at a much slower pace. I am considerably more conscious of how quickly, or slowly, I am moving. What I want is to enjoy my slower pace, identifying those items that must be done and not rushing to accomplish what is left on my task list for the day.
So, there’s my bit...what about you? Find your sweet spot! Each of us has an “essence pace,” the pace that is most comfortable and most efficient. Here is a little exercise that can assist you in finding your own pace. Find a hallway that has a bit of length to it -- now walk super fast (if its a short one, go back again), notice how you feel. Now do the same thing, except walk really slow. For most people, this super slow pace will probably feel very uncomfortable. Lastly, move again, this time at a pace that FEELS GOOD. This is your essence pace. Moving at this pace throughout your day will bring you not only to a great feeling place, but also you will find you are much more productive!
