Ohio REALTORS 2020 Convention will be offered exclusively as a virtual event!

Jun 30, 2020

By President Chris Reese

Your Ohio REALTORS 2020 Leadership Team has made the difficult -- yet highly appropriate -- decision to conduct our upcoming Annual Convention & EXPO exclusively as a virtual event. Additionally, we’re postponing the Women of Vision Conference until next year.

The safety and concern of our membership is paramount and in these uncertain and challenging days, we must be relentlessly vigilant in protecting the health, safety and welfare of each of you and your loved ones.

From the onset of this coronavirus pandemic -- Ohio’s REALTORS have been leaders in our respective communities by developing innovative and unique ways to serve our clients and, most importantly, understanding that it wasn’t the time for business as usual. That was true when the Ohio's Stay-at-Home order was issued in March…and it’s still true today.

As you’re aware, NAR has recently announced the cancellation of its Convention in November and a number of state associations have similarly followed suit. As much as we tried to find a workable solution for what was going to be an amazing Convention this September, it’s become apparent that we cannot convene a gathering that brings more than a thousand our members together and provide assurances that everyone will be safe.

But while we can’t be together in person -- I can promise you that we will provide you access to a remarkable first-time virtual event. Your Convention Committee, Leadership Team and staff are working on plans that will allow you to hear from the experts, gain insight, earn CE credit and make a positive difference on moving your Association forward. Watch for details on how you can be a part of our online Convention in the coming weeks.

I want to thank my Leadership Team -- Seth Task and John Mangas -- for their remarkable courage in making the hard decisions. I also extend my thanks to the entire Executive Committee, for continuing to see to the Association business during these trying times and exercising their fiduciary duty to the members. I’d be remiss if I didn’t express my gratitude to the Convention Committee, who worked tirelessly in planning a world class event. And finally, I want to thank each and every one of you for your patience, your understanding and your support.

Stay safe…
