Coaching Corner: Are you an innie or an outie?

There is a good possibility that you think I am referring to the style of your belly button! If so, I am sorry to disappoint you.

Today, I am referring to how you individually recharge, knowing that we all have varying degrees of stressors in our lives. When your body requires a recharge, do you find yourself seeking isolation? Do you want to be as quiet as possible and allow your energy to slowly move back in? Or, are you the person that seeks activity and other people around you to get energized?

Now, there are some that ignore their natural needs—continuing to go-go-go, regardless of the internal and external signs that they need to slow down and replenish themselves. And there are others who isolate when they should consider going for a walk or out to dinner with a friend or two in order to lift their spirits and recharge. The most important thing is to listen to your body and its needs, and then honor them.

There’s no right or wrong. It’s merely identifying what your individual style is, and then utilizing that knowledge.

Today, find some time to check-in with yourself to see if you are an innie or an outie! Make a list of what refuels and recharges you, and then do more of that! You'll be glad you did!
