Ohio's Home Sales Gain Momentum in June
Ohio’s housing market saw a notable uptick in June, with strong year-over-year gains in both home sales and median prices, according to the latest data released by Ohio REALTORS®.
Home sales in June 2025 reached 12,276, a 7.1% increase from the 11,461 home sales recorded a year ago. The average sales price across Ohio in June reached $275,000, a 5.7% increase from the $260,000 mark posted in June 2024.
"The momentum we're seeing this summer signals renewed buyer confidence and a strong seasonal push,” says Ohio REALTORS® President Michelle Billings. “With interest rates showing signs of settling and more sellers entering the market, the pace of transactions is picking up as we enter the summer homebuying season. An Ohio REALTOR® is a professional partner, guiding buyers and sellers through the intricate process of home buying and selling to achieve their housing goals successfully.”
Also on the rise were new listings, which reached 35,305 statewide in June, representing an 11.1% year-over-year increase over the 31,774 listings in June 2024. The boost in listings helped fuel sales activity and reflects growing seller confidence heading into the year's second half.
Inventory remains tight, with a statewide supply of 3.44 months, below the six months typically considered for a balanced market. However, this figure is up 12% year-over-year, suggesting a gradual easing of the inventory crunch that has existed in recent years.
