Ohio Department of Commerce Announces Launch Date for New eLicense LPI Portal
The Ohio Department of Commerce (COM), in partnership with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS), is launching the new eLicense LPI (Licensing, Permitting and Inspections) Portal on October 20, 2025!
In preparation for the launch of the new system, the current system will be permanently retired and unavailable beginning Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. through Sunday, October 19, 2025.
What you need to know:
- Plan Ahead! License renewals, transfers and reactivations won’t be available during the blackout period (10/16-10/19). Plan accordingly to complete any urgent tasks in the current system before October 16!
- Prepare! Get ready to access the new system by getting an OHID. Create one here. You will need an OHID to access the new eLicense Portal.
- Keep Watch! The Ohio Department of Commerce will send instructions on how to link your OHID to your existing license in the new eLicense Portal as soon as it’s available. They’ll also communicate interim processes for urgent renewal, transfer or reactivation requests during the blackout period.
If you need assistance in creating your OHID, please click here for a step-by-step guide or contact the OHID Contact Center between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 614-644-OHID (6443).
