Coaching Corner: Identify and close your gaps!

Coaching Corner: Identify and close your gaps!

So, today, think about your gaps. What are those items that loom over your business, showing themselves at usually inopportune times? What knowledge would give you the confidence you desire, which would directly impact your business?

We are still early in the year and it is a great time to explore this topic. As you begin to make your list, you may surprise yourself with what comes up -- sometimes we just need to create some focus to help us identify what is important. OK -- go! Make your list!

Now you have your list, right? Of course you do! Next step on this is to determine where that knowledge will be coming from. Is there a CE class being offered that fits the bill, or do you need to talk to someone in your office for certain information? With as many of the “gaps” as possible, make a determination of where to go for what you need.

Let's talk for a minute about continuing education. Often times we take a class because we need to make our hours -- I get that. But...what would happen if you begin to make your selections based on your individual needs? From that approach you would be truly benefiting from your continuing education rather than choosing from a timing standpoint. You create your own education plan. Classes might be offered at your Local Board, or office, or they may be offered through OAR. There are quality classes and instructors out there, ready to fill your brain with timely and valuable knowledge. Your job is to choose wisely and sign up!

Enjoy!
