Coaching Corner: Is your mind set for success?

Coaching Corner: Is your mind set for success?

The new year is rapidly approaching -- before you know it, we will be part of 2017! Today, I want to speak to you about aligning your mind with the success you would like to see in the new year. Fresh starts are wonderful! They allow us to revisit our direction both professionally and personally, and the new year is the perfect opportunity to do just that!

So...you may have already begun to ponder your “resolutions” for 2017. Personally, I have never been a big fan of the word or idea of a resolution. The majority of the time, these fall short (and sometimes very short) of what we have resolved to do. As part of our fresh start, let's consider the idea of setting our intention, getting clear on what it is we truly want to see happen in this new year.

For the sake of this exercise, let's choose just one direction -- your business success. What is your intention? What would success look like within your business? Go ahead -- write this down. Now, in thinking about this particular success, ask yourself why you want this? What is important about having it? It is highly probable that your initial response might be around the money it provides. Cool! Now go a bit deeper. Why is the money important? How do you see yourself spending/saving this money? What feeling does having this success bring you? All of these answers are important, playing directly into aligning your mindset of success! Ultimately, you may find that financial independence is driving this desire, or perhaps to be a great provider for your family. Remember, this is about your desire and motivation, not anyone else!

You can repeat this exercise with any area of your life. What do you want for the upcoming year? This is a fresh start -- take it and enjoy!
