Showcase: Ohio REALTORS^® Build Communities

Ohio REALTORS^® want to recognize our members who have given their time and energy in making their community a better place to live, work and grow. Whether you are a little league coach, building homes for Habitat, conducting food drives or organizing and participating in community service events we want to hear from you. REALTORS^® build communities!

With this in mind, we are starting a series of videos that will feature Ohio REALTORS^® talking about what they do for their communities. The first video of the series will be featured at the Ohio REALTORS^® Convention & Expo's Opening General Session on Monday, Sept. 27. The deadline for the Ohio REALTORS^® Build Communities video series is Friday, July 23 at 5 pm.

Take a few moments and create a video (using your smart phone). We want pictures of your activities too! If you wish, submit up to three photos and we may superimpose them on your video while you're talking.

Here are a few video tips to improve your presentation:

• Shoot Horizontal – landscape mode (horizontal) is best.
• Keep it Short – Less is more. 5-10 seconds max.
• Keep the camera steady – if possible, use a tripod or set phone on stable desk/counter. Perfectly fine to shoot it as a “selfie” just try not to shake the camera too much.
• Lighting is key – Smartphone cameras have small image sensors so if you try to shoot in a dark environment, it will give you grainy, low-quality video. Shoot your video using natural light if possible. Or even better, at the event you've sponsored!
• Wipe off your camera lens – Smudges can distort your image or make it look foggy.
