REALTOR Sandy LoCascio from the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS was honored with the 2019 Ohio REALTORS Distinguished Service Award (DSA).

The presentation of the award was made at the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors meeting during the organization's 109th Annual Convention & EXPO, Sept. 16-18, in Cincinnati.

Ohio REALTORS created the "Distinguished Service Award" to honor long-standing members who have demonstrated an uncommon commitment to the goals and purposes of the REALTOR Association at the local, state and national levels. Those eligible for the award must have been active members of the Association for 25 years and cannot have served as president of the organization.

LoCascio has been involved in her local Association since 1990, when she began serving on the Legislative and Membership Committees and was elected to the Board of Directors. She served as President of the Akron Area Board of REALTORS in 2003.

Her committee experience is extensive and includes serving in the Legislative, REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustees, Executive, Professional Standards, Member Services and Finance areas of her local board. She also serves on its Board of Directors.

For Ohio REALTORS, LoCascio is similarly active, having served as a Director from 1999 to present. Her past and current service includes membership on the Communications, Convention, Professional Standards, Local Government, Business Technology and Legislative Committees.

LoCascio served as a Federal Political Coordinator for former Congresswoman Betty Sutton between 2011-2013. She currently serves as State Political Coordinator for Minority Leader Emilia Sykes, Rep. Anthony DeVitis and Rep. Tavia Galonski.

Very active at the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), LoCascio regularly attends its bi-annual meetings and represents her local board during the Capitol Hill visits. LoCascio also took NAR's Mediation Training program.

She holds the Accredited Buyer Representative and Senior Real Estate Specialist designations.

LoCascio resides in Cuyahoga Falls. She is married with three children and six grandchildren.

The Ohio REALTORS, with more than 32,000 members, is the largest professional trade association in Ohio.
