Ohio REALTORS awarded its 2019 "Young Professionals Network of the Year Award" to the Youngstown Columbiana Association of REALTORS.
The presentation was made during the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors meeting, a highlight of the 109th Annual Convention & EXPO, Sept. 16-18, in Cincinnati.
To launch its network, the Youngstown Columbiana Assocoation formed a leadership committee, defined roles and developed a strategic plan for gaining and maintaining YPN membership. Since its revamp, the Network has attended, sponsored and planned CE sessions, fundraisers and networking events. A member of its YPN leadership committee gives a presentation at every Board orientation to speak with new members and make them aware of this Network and all it has to offer.
This year the Network partnered with animal rescue "Every Dog Matters" to help with their fundraising efforts. In addition, members helped collect toys for children of the Court Appointed Special Advocate Association. Finally, the YPN group volunteers time to help with various events for the Mahoning County Special Olympics and worked with St Vincent DePaul’s “Back to School Supply Drive” to help collect backpacks and school supplies
The Network's most unique and most attended event occurred in June when it hosted a “Lending for Dummies” lender panel. REALTORS and affiliates were able to anonymously submit lending-related questions which were answered by a panel of three affiliated lenders.
Previous winners of the Ohio REALTORS YPN of the Year include Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS (2016) and Dayton REALTORS (2017 and 2018).
The Ohio REALTORS, with more than 32,000 members, is the larget professional trade association in Ohio.
