Coaching Corner: Are you an adrenaline junkie?

Think of a situation such as this — you are going through your day and suddenly you receive a phone call that requires your immediate attention. You jump right into it and even if you were tired before that, you seem to have more energy to deal with the situation. This is fine if it only happens now and again, but when it becomes a regular occurrence, your body will have a hard time recovering.

Some people actually create “drama” in their lives, or become overly busy to keep that feeling of aliveness happening. The problem with trying to keep the feeling from an adrenaline rush happening is your body will begin to feel the stress. So, how do you break this habit?

One way is to monitor your caffeine and sugar intake. Another is to be more aware of when you need to leave for appointments. Do not wait until the last minute and then rush to get there. Give yourself plenty of time and, if you are able, listen to something calming during your drive. Underpromise and overdeliver — REALTORS have been known to do the opposite!

Over the next week, pay attention to how much you might be creating adrenaline and take action to generate more ease in your life!
