Coaching Corner: Be the resource

Coaching Corner: Be the resource

As I think about what is important, the idea of how we as Realtors are a resource continues to come to mind. How might you be the person that people think immediately about when any topic of Real Estate presents itself? How do you strengthen and support that you are the “go to” person for any real estate needs and questions?

At this moment, there is a huge discussion regarding Governor Kasich's proposed sales tax that will impact everyone if it is adopted. Are you up to speed with this issue? On Tuesday, I was with coaching clients who are all insurance agents — I brought up the tax issue to them, and they were unaware of any of it. One of the exclusions within this proposal is “some insurance.” I absolutely do not know what that means to them and their own business, however, after our session they checked with their district manager and got more information on this very important topic. Now, they can educate themselves and become the resource for their clients.

This issue has the potential to have a huge impact on real estate consumers. The better understanding we individually have, the more impactful our conversations will be with others outside of this industry. There is much to learn about this issue, and I consider it our responsibility to have the best understanding that we can.

If you are reading this blog, chances are you also have been reading the great articles on the Buzz. OAR does a phenomenal job of being our resource, providing valuable information so that we, in turn, can do the same!
