Ohio Department of Commerce to Launch New eLicense LPI Portal

The Ohio Department of Commerce (COM), in partnership with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS), is launching the new eLicense LPI (Licensing, Permitting and Inspections) Portal in late October 2025! 

With the new eLicense LPI portal, key tasks like submitting an application, document submission, payments and license management will move online — making the process more efficient! Here's what you can expect with the new eLicnse LPI portal:

  • 24/7 Online Access & Self-Service: Apply, renew and manage your license any time online through the eLicense LPI portal.
  • Faster Turnaround Time: Automating most approvals and reducing paper submissions.
  • Electronic Communications & Status Updates: Get real-time notifications and track application progress. 

Wondering who is affected? All REPL customers will be impacted by this change. The following list includes the affected groups:

  • Salesperson
  • Broker
  • Brokerage Firm
  • Land Professional 
  • Appraiser
  • Home Inspector
  • Continuing Education Provider
  • Cemetery
  • FRE Dealer
  • FRE Salesperson
  • VSA
  • AMC
  • Federal AMC

Create an OHIID now! Excited for the launch? While you wait for the official launch of the eLicense LPI portal, take this time to create an OHIID account. The purpose of an OHIID is to provide a secure, self-service digital identity platform for both Ohio residents and state workforce members. You must first create an OHIID account to access the new eLicense LPI portal and manage your license

If you already have an OH/ID for another state agency like BMV or Ohio Taxation, you are good to go for now. 

How to create an OHIID:

  1. ohid.ohio.gov
  2. Click on "Create Account"
  3. Follow prompts to enter your personal information, including your name, email address and a secure password

The Ohio Division of Real Estate will be offline from October 17th to 19th to prepare for the new eLicense LPI (Licensing, Permitting and Inspections) Portal coming in late October 2025. Please plan on doing any license transfers or division business BEFORE this date to avoid delays.
