Coaching Corner: Find the Fun
By Master Coach Marilou Butcher Roth
When I was younger, fun seemed to come so easily; always right there, waiting for me to jump on board. As I have aged and look back upon my childhood, I wonder why I now have to literally intend to find fun. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my life, and I am quite fortunate to love what I do for a career, and because of that, I believe it doesn’t cross my mind as much to find fun elsewhere.
Are any of you resonating with this? I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that you are. Just today, my grandson was here, and although it was a work day for me, I decided to postpone the paperwork that needed tending to and enjoy him. We ended up playing two games and had lunch together, both of us being quite silly.
How do we lose that child-like part of ourselves? What are we prioritizing in our day-to-day existence? Perhaps this isn’t even a thing for you, and you are quite content with how your world is running ~ that’s great! If, however, you have the desire bubbling up to have more fun in your life, take some time this week and identify what that may look like for you. Everybody’s fun will look different on the outside as well as the inside. The important thing here is to find yours! Enjoy!!
