Shannon Hill Honored with 2026 Good Neighbor Award
REALTOR® Shannon Hill, of Ashland, is honored with the Ohio REALTORS® 2026 Good Neighbor Award.
Hill was presented with the award at the Ohio REALTORS® 2026 Annual Convention & Expo, September 14-16, in Columbus.
Hill, of the Ashland Board of REALTORS®, is associated with RE/MAX Showcase.
The Good Neighbor Award, one of the organization's most prestigious honors, is presented to an individual REALTOR® who has shown exemplary commitment to community service.
For the past five years, Hill has dedicated her time and leadership to ACCESS, a nonprofit organization committed to eliminating homelessness among women and children in Ashland County. As a board member, volunteer, and current vice president, she has helped provide safe, short-term housing and the support services necessary for families to rebuild stable, independent lives.
Driven by a belief that every family deserves stability and opportunity, Hill became involved with ACCESS after recognizing that homelessness among women and children often remains hidden in smaller communities. Through her service, she has witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that housing, life-skills training, job assistance, and community support can have on families working to regain independence.
Since joining the ACCESS board in 2021, Hill has served as fundraising chair and played a key role in expanding the organization's fundraising efforts. During that time, ACCESS has raised approximately $365,000 through fundraising events and increased donations, helping the organization grow from 1.5 employees to five employees and expand programs and services for families in need.
Hill's contributions extend far beyond fundraising. She personally recruits sponsors, speaks at events, and leverages her professional network to connect lenders, inspectors, title companies, and other business partners to the organization's mission. When ACCESS purchased an additional building to expand housing capacity, Hill assisted with the real estate transaction and waived her commission. She also persuaded the title company and inspectors involved to waive their fees, preserving valuable resources for the nonprofit.
In addition, Hill's brokerage supports ACCESS by donating $25 from every transaction completed through the Ashland office. Through her leadership and advocacy, ACCESS has served approximately 350 women and children, providing safe housing, essential resources, and life-skills training that help families achieve lasting stability.
