REALTOR Terry Hankner, of Cincinnati, was honored with the Ohio REALTORS 2017 "Phillip R. Barnes RPAC Achievement Award."

The presentation of the award was made at the organization's Board of Directors meeting during the 107th Annual Convention & EXPO, Sept. 24-27, in Cincinnati.

The "Phillip R. Barnes RPAC Achievement Award" was created in 2001 in memory of Past President Phillip R. Barnes, who was a leading advocate of the organization's REALTORS Political Action Committee. The Award is presented annually to a REALTOR whose commitment to RPAC and political involvement is exemplary.

Hankner has served on numerous committees and as President of the Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS. She also served as Ohio REALTORS President in 2001.

Additionally, she served as a member and president of the Ohio Real Estate Commission (2009-2012); member and chair of the Cincinnati Planning Commission (1988-2006); member of the Hamilton County Natural Resources Advisory Council (2001-2006); member and chair of the Education and Research Advisory Committee of the Ohio Division of Real Estate (2002-2008); chair of the Ohio REALTORS Task Force on Limited Service Brokerage (2005-2006); and chair of the Ohio Division of Real Estate Special Task Force on Real Estate Credentialing. She has served as a member of the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors since 1987.

On the national level, she served as a National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Director from Ohio (1991-1992, 2002-2005 and 2007-2009) and as NAR Region 6 Vice President, representing Ohio and Michigan, in 2004.

Hankner was also the recipient of another top honor of the Ohio REALTORS, the "Vincent T. Aveni Lifetime Achievement Award," in 2014.

A strong supporter of RPAC, she is recognized by NAR at the Sterling R Major Investor Level.

"Over the years, Terry has truly led by example on the importance of RPAC," said Ohio REALTORS President Pete Kopf. "REALTORS are beneficiaries of her unmatched leadership and support to this important cause, but also her tireless effort toward improving the real estate industry and profession."

Rouda (2002), Vince Aveni (2003), Mary Pollock (2004), Nancy Sharp (2005), George Smith (2006), Steve Brown (2007), Hal Maxfield (2008), Barbara Lach (2009), Darlene Breen (2010), Bonnie Boyd (2011), Charlotte Van Steyn (2012), Phil Morrical Jr. (2013 — posthumously), John Lynch (2014), Joseph T. Aveni, Jr. (2015), and Bradley Bennett (2016).

The Ohio REALTORS, with more than 31,000 members, is the largest professional trade association in Ohio.
