REALTOR Heather Haase accepts the Ohio REALTORS 2018 Young Professionals Network of the Year Award on behalf of Dayton REALTORS. This marks the second consecutive year that the Dayton YPN's have received the state's top honor.

Ohio REALTORS awarded its 2018 "Young Professionals Network of the Year Award" to the Dayton REALTORS.

The presentation was made at the Ohio REALTORS Board of Directors meeting, a highlight of the 108th Annual Convention & EXPO, Sept. 16-18, in Columbus.

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) in Dayton, which was honored as the inaugural recipient of the state award in 2017, continued its renewed structure of its YPN Council, which this year has led to new officers being engaged in the Council. These new members have brought new ideas, new focuses and also increased the coverage and exposure to YPN events and classes. The Council also formed its own affiliate sponsorship program to begin the effort of become self-sustaining for their events. To date they have added 10 sponsors, raising $10,000 for their events and classes.

This year, Dayton REALTORS YPN participated in Rebuild Together Dayton, showing up in force to assist homeowners who either are limited physically or have problems economically caring for their home, their most valuable asset. The group also recognized the area's local police, fire and first-responders through providing breakfast both at the Association building as well as area police departments with the help of Miami Valley Crime Prevention network.

Its annual event, “March Madness Mixer” is a unique affair in that it attracts members of all age groups throughout the day to enjoy the first round of March Madness action projected on four giant screens. Hundreds of members attend. Included is a raffle for prizes that raised $700 for Brigid’s Path, a local organization focused on providing inpatient medical care for drug-exposed newborns and support services for mothers and families. Also included in annual events is the REALTORS Political Action Committee Chili Cook Off, the Brew-Ha-Ha brewery tour in cooperation with Dayton Women’s Council of REALTORS, and the annual school supply drive for Crayons to Classrooms.

Dayton's YPN just launched YPNU. Starting in September, YPN University, fully funded by an affiliate partner, will focus on bringing its members, young and old, the best in education focused around digital marketing and pioneering their business in the social media era. REALTORS will gain the confidence they need to utilize tools like email marketing, geofarming, social media and search engine marketing, video production and other great skills for better serving their clients out in the field. Additionally, attendees who attend all classes will be given the first-ever YPN designation of “Certified Technology Professional." This will again further the exposure of the YPN mission and importance.

The Ohio REALTORS, with more than 33,000 members, is the largest professional trade association in Ohio.
